The Hempfield Area Spartans will take on the Woodland Hills Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Woodland Hills better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Hempfield Area's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Hempfield Area really gets things going. The Spartans' defense stepped up to hand Gateway a 4-0 shutout. Considering Hempfield Area's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Gateway with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Braden Crowe (2), Isaac Pugliese, and Tyler Gilpin.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodland Hills). They blew past Steel Valley 8-3 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what Woodland Hills needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.
