Soccer Game Preview: Platteview vs. Blair

The Platteview Trojans will head out to challenge the Blair Bears at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Platteview's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Nebraska City 11-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Platteview.

Their offense was hitting Nebraska City from everywhere, as nine different players booted in a goal. Sophia Morrison led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Blair made easy work of Waverly on Monday and carried off a 5-0 victory. The win continues a trend for Blair in their matchups with Waverly: they've now won three in a row.

Blair has also opened the season with a perfect 2-0 record. As for Platteview, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 2-0.

Platteview might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Blair in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Platteview was down 6-1.
