Bucktail extended their losing streak to six on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-9. They came up short against the Sullivan County Griffins, falling 23-9. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bucks of the 20-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.
Thomas Craft led a balanced group of hitters, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Otis Emerick, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
As for Sullivan County, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-9. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for their hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
On Sullivan County's side, Madden Fries and Tucker Blasi made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Fries tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Blasi pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Fries has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Fries got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Blasi went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave Blasi a new career-high.
In other batting news, Garrett Burke was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Sullivan County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Marshall Strain, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI and two runs.
