Volleyball Recap: Otay Ranch Gets the Win

Otay Ranch won the last time they faced Sweetwater and things went their way on Friday too. The Mustangs came out on top against the Red Devils by a score of 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

While Otay Ranch won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23.

Anthony Martins paced Otay Ranch's offense, picking up 12 kills. Martins got some help from Royce Garcia and his 28 assists. Finally, Zim Garcia kept Otay Ranch's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Otay Ranch's win bumped their record up to 14-16. As for Sweetwater, their loss ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 24-9.

Otay Ranch didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Granite Hills on the 25th. As for Sweetwater, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Point Loma on the 25th.
