Baseball Game Preview: Eastern Eagles vs. Trimble Tomcats

Eastern has gone 8-2 against Trimble recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Tomcats at 5:00 p.m. Eastern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.

Eastern blew Warren out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Warren got their revenge. The Eagles fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered against the Warriors since May 3, 2022.

Eastern got a good showing from Dawson King, who kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Furthermore, King didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2025.

At the plate, Clayton Moore was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Durst, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Trimble's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 8-3 to Miller.

Trimble's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Eastern, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-5.

Eastern skirted past Trimble 2-0 when the teams last played on April 9th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
