While Porterville's win against Mt. Whitney wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Panthers had just enough and edged out the Pioneers 3-2. That's two games straight that the Panthers have won by just one run.

The victory made it two in a row for Porterville and bumps their season record up to 11-16. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Mt. Whitney, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-16-2.

Coming up, Porterville will head out on the road to square off against Monache at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Marauders have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. As for Mt. Whitney, they will be playing at home against Redwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rangers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight.
