League recap: Kearsley stuns Clio in upset

The biggest upset of the week belonged to Kearsley, who defeated 417th ranked Clio, 28-24.

Adding to the longest winning streak in Flint Metro this week, Fenton beat Lapeer East 10-7. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.

Gage Smith threw for 228 yards and 2 touchdowns.

Kyle McCanham was the best receiver in the league this week as Brandon fell to Swartz Creek. McCanham racked up 6 receptions for 114 yards. Matt Howlett helped Brandon's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 50 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Dragons' Brendon Fitch and Brandyn Matte have proven to be a lethal combination. Fitch has thrown for 1,496 yards this season, while Matte has 22 catches for 512 yards. The Blackhawks' Matt Sears leads the league in rushing yards with 474.

A big matchup in Flint Metro this week will be when Fenton takes on the Hornets. As it stands, Jeff Setzke's team is in first, while Kearsley is in seventh.

Linden and Flint Southwestern Academy played the most contested game in the league this week, with Linden eventually emerging with a 35-34 victory. Smith ran for 85 yards in the win.
