Volleyball Recap: Sturgis West Takes a Loss

Sturgis West lost against Calvary Chapel Academy two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Navigators came up short against Calvary Chapel Academy, falling 3-0. The Navigators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Sturgis West was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-22, 25-13, 25-14.

Noelani Kittila paced Sturgis West's offense, picking up eight kills. Kittila got some help from Sage Hampton and her 14 assists. Kittila also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Zori Stoyanova, each putting up two.

Sturgis West's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Sturgis West has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Rising Tide on the 3rd. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they will square off against Holbrook at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
