Basketball Recap: Marbury Finds Playoff Glory Versus Briarwood Christian

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Marbury had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Briarwood Christian Lions by a score of 49-42. The victory was familiar territory for the Bulldogs, who have now won four matches in a row.

Marbury's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Justice Blackmon led the charge by going 6-for-9 from beyond the arc on her way to 21 points. The dominant performance also gave Blackmon a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (67%). Nunu Jernigan was another key player, putting up 11 points along with six assists and six rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Briarwood Christian lost, don't look at Ann Tatum Baker. Despite the final result, she went 5-for-11 en route to 17 points. Another player making a difference was Grace Garrett, who posted six points and four steals.

Marbury's record now sits at 20-6. As for Briarwood Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 21-12.
