Football Game Preview: Hernando Leopards vs. Seven Rivers Christian Warriors

The Hernando Leopards will face off against the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Hernando sitting on three straight wins and Seven Rivers Christian on four.

Hernando is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Crystal River, posting a 40-0 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, Seven Rivers Christian put their dominant defense on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They took their match with ease, bagging a 36-0 victory over Classical Prep.

Seven Rivers Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Zoey Houle, Annalise DeBeer, and Mariella DeBeer picked up one apiece. Annalise is crushing it when it comes to interceptions: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season.

Seven Rivers Christian pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.8 points on average over those games. As for Hernando, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Hernando came out on top in a nail-biter against Seven Rivers Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 24-21. Does Hernando have another victory up their sleeve, or will Seven Rivers Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
