Basketball Game Preview: Greater Latrobe Wildcats vs. Penn-Trafford Warriors

The Greater Latrobe Wildcats will take on the Penn-Trafford Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Greater Latrobe was fully in charge, breezing past Laurel Highlands 68-40. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while the Mustangs are ranked 436th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Penn-Trafford scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a hard 100-85 fall against Uniontown. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (64), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Penn-Trafford now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Greater Latrobe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-2 record this season.

Greater Latrobe came out on top in a nail-biter against Penn-Trafford when the teams last played back in December of 2024, sneaking past 53-50. Does Greater Latrobe have another victory up their sleeve, or will Penn-Trafford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
