Baseball Game Preview: Leland Chargers vs. Santa Teresa Saints

For the second straight game, Leland will face off against Santa Teresa. The Chargers will square off against the Saints at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Leland is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since March 1st on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Santa Teresa 2-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Sam Mao tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Leland is 5-1 when Mao allows one or fewer earned runs, but 1-11 otherwise.

At the plate, Leland's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Caden Canter, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Leland's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Santa Teresa, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10.
