Basketball Recap: Curlew Takes a Loss

Curlew lost to Northport back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Cougars had to suffer through a 77-42 loss at the hands of the Mustangs. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 70-28.

Curlew's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jake Olson, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 12 points and five boards. Gabriel (Gabe) Pak was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals.

Curlew is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14. As for Northport, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-4.

Curlew didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 63-41 defeat against Inchelium on the 17th. As for Northport, they have also already played their next contest, an 81-35 win against Republic on the 17th.
