Baseball Recap: ALA - Gilbert North Snags Tenth Win in Last 11 Games

Alhambra typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday ALA - Gilbert North proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Lions. Eight seems to be a good number for the Eagles as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

ALA - Gilbert North got a great performance from Braden Maine as he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Maine has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Tate Clarkson, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Nash Bigham, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

ALA - Gilbert North has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Alhambra, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. ALA - Gilbert North will square off against Combs at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Coyotes at the right time seeing as the Coyotes are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Alhambra, they will face off against Mountain Pointe at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. The last four games the Pride have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
