Football Recap: McDaniel Mountain Lions vs. Jefferson Democrats
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ida B. Wells, McDaniel was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 15-12 victory over the Jefferson Democrats. For the Mountain Lions, this counts as revenge for the 43-6 win the Democrats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McDaniel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaydin Jordan, who picked up 141 receiving yards and one touchdown. Jordan's receiving production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 108 receiving yards.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to McDaniel's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Tokaone Fakapulia and Christian Taylor, who racked up all five sacks between them.
