Westhill never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Mexico on Monday. They blew past the Tigers 25-7. The Warriors have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.
Samantha Snyder made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Snyder was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, Westhill got a massive performance out of Sophia Johnson, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Ava Antoine, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Westhill now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Mexico, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-3.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Westhill is set to challenge their familiar foe Chittenango at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Mexico will face off against rival Homer at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
