Baseball Recap: Savoy Comes Up Short

Savoy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 26th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Ector Eagles, falling 16-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, with their most recent defeat being a 22-12 loss two weeks ago.

Savoy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Ector, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Savoy will welcome Collinsville at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ector, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dodd City at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.18 runs per game on average), something the Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of.
