Monroe extended their winning streak to six games thanks to a huge performance from Kie'Aundria Acree. The Golden Tornadoes put the hurt on the Sumter County Panthers with a sharp 58-35 victory on Tuesday for which the team can thank Acree, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 15 rebounds. Her big performance that evening made it 36 games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points.

Glendalys Harvey was another key player, putting up four points and three steals. She also posted a block, marking her first of the season.

Sumter County's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aliyah McGarrah, who posted nine points.

Monroe's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Sumter County, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coincidentally, Monroe and Sumter County will both be playing Lee County the next time they take the court. The Panthers will host the Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Golden Tornadoes will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on the 12th.
