Basketball Recap: Manchester Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Manchester extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Brontae Jones. The Blue Devils came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 76-72 W against the Greenville Patriots for which the team can thank Jones, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 12 boards. Jones is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Greenville's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jarvis Simmons, who shot 82% from the field on his way to 19 points. Another player making a difference was Marquel Derring, who went 6-for-10 en route to 14 points and seven steals.

Manchester's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Greenville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Manchester and Callaway will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenville, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Valley at 6:00 p.m. on the 26th.
