Softball Game Preview: Wayne Falcons vs. Centerville Big Reds/Redettes

Wayne has won four straight games at home, while Centerville has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Falcons will host the Big Reds/Redettes at 7:00 p.m. Wayne's pitching crew has only allowed 1.5 runs per game this season, so Centerville's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Wayne's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Nodaway Valley as they made off with an 8-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Centerville narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Fairfield 6-4.

Centerville has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Wayne, their victory bumped their record up to 8-0.
