Basketball Recap: Jeannette's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Jeannette waltzed into their game on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They enjoyed a cozy 54-39 win over the Springdale Dynamos. Given the Jayhawks' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Dynamos are ranked 365th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jeannette's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Markus Mcgowan, who posted 19 points. The contest was Mcgowan's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jayce Powell was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Jeannette's win bumped their record up to 17-1. As for Springdale, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-7.

Jeannette will head out to challenge Greensburg Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jeannette is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 68.8 points per game this season. As for Springdale, they will welcome California at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Springdale is facing California at the right time seeing as California is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
