Baseball Game Preview: Fremont Firebirds vs. Homestead Mustangs

The Fremont Firebirds will face off against the Homestead Mustangs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Fremont has four straight wins, Homestead has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Fremont's victory against Saratoga wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Firebirds skirted past the Falcons 5-3.

Meanwhile, while it was Homestead who put the first runs on the board on Friday, it was Wilcox who put up more. The Mustangs took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers.

Andrew Sun was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. Homestead is 3-1 when Sun posts two or more runs, but 6-11 otherwise.

Fremont's win bumped their record up to 15-4. As for Homestead, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-12.
