Basketball Recap: Hyde Park Takes a Loss

Hyde Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincoln Abes. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 140th in Illinois, while the Abes are ranked 13th in Michigan).

Hyde Park's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Lincoln, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-4.

It'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Hyde Park Thunderbirds face off against the Curie Condors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln, they will challenge Chippewa Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Chippewa Valley has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 187 points over their last three matches.
