Baseball Recap: Neumann Triumphs

Neumann owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They came out on top against the Mariner Tritons by a score of 3-0. That's more bragging rights for the Celtics, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not much got past OB Osceola, who gave up just three hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Mariner off the board. Osceola also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Neumann is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 8-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Luke Parrish, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Cole Travers, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Neumann always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Neumann now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Mariner, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.

Neumann has already played their next contest, an 8-7 victory against St. John's on the 10th. As for Mariner, they will face off against Fort Myers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Green Wave's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Tritons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
