The Justin Garza Guardians will head out on the road to square off against the Washington Union Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Justin Garza took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Madera 16-14. The 16-point effort marked the Guardians' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Those four rushing touchdowns gave Mohammed a new career-high. Another signal caller making a difference was Bohden Smith, who threw for 187 yards and three TDs on only 12 passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Justin Garza was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 304 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Washington Union duked it out with Kerman on Friday. The Panthers strolled past the Lions with points to spare, taking the game 30-13.
Justin Garza better keep an eye on Jareal Albert. He was instrumental in Washington Union's win, rushing for 184 yards and three scores while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Albert didn't just play on offense: he also made six total tackles and defended one pass.
One reason for the win was Washington Union's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by David Salcedo and Jeremiah Foster, who racked up all four sacks between them. Washington Union received some extra help from Paul Holland IV, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Washington Union has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.5 points on average over those games. As for Justin Garza, their record is now 6-4.
Justin Garza came up short against Washington Union when the teams last played back in September, falling 29-25. Can the Guardians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
