Baseball Game Preview: Waukesha South Blackshirts vs. Arrowhead Warhawks

Waukesha South hasn't had much luck against Arrowhead recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blackshirts will look to defend their home field against the Warhawks at 7:30 p.m.

Waukesha South is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 19th straight game on Friday. They lost 10-0 to Mukwonago.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Arrowhead ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over Wisconsin Lutheran. The victory was nothing new for the Warhawks as they're now sitting on six straight.

Arrowhead got a great performance from Tanner Buhlmann as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over 4.2 innings pitched. Buhlmann has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, PJ Hamel was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Arrowhead's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-5. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Waukesha South, their loss dropped their record down to 3-20.

Waukesha South couldn't quite finish off Arrowhead in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 and fell 9-7. Can the Blackshirts avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
