Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Owen Caldwell and Josh Gordon Lead Sandoval to Victory

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Galatia, Sandoval was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Elverado Falcons with points to spare, taking the game 63-46. The victory continues a trend for the Blackhawks in their matchups with the Falcons: they've now won seven in a row.

Sandoval was led to victory by Josh Gordon and Owen Caldwell. Gordon dropped a double-double with 25 points and 11 boards, while Caldwell shot 62% from the field en route to 20 points. The dominant performance also gave Caldwell a new career-high in rebounds (four). Another player making a difference was Cooper Lyons, who posted two points along with seven boards and three steals.

Sandoval's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Elverado, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
