Baseball Game Preview: Lawrenceburg Tigers vs. Jennings County Panthers

The Lawrenceburg Tigers will face off against the Jennings County Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Lawrenceburg has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lawrenceburg fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against East Central on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 6-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Trojans: they've now lost nine in a row.

Ryan Richard made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was T.J. Tibbetts, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Madison hit Jennings County with a four-run sixth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Cubs, falling 8-2. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jennings County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zane Weinhorst, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Lawrenceburg's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Jennings County, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-14.

Lawrenceburg couldn't quite get it done against Jennings County when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 8-4. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
