Baseball Game Preview: Enumclaw Hornets vs. Beamer Titans

For the second straight game, Enumclaw will face off against Beamer. The Hornets will look to defend their home field on Monday against the Titans at 7:00 p.m. Enumclaw's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so Beamer's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Enumclaw barely beat Beamer the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hornets never let the Titans get on the board and left with an 18-0 victory on Friday. The Hornets not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 18th (when they won 19-1).

Enumclaw got a great performance from Paxton Patterson as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. What's more, Patterson posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Juden Jones and Drew Francis did most of the damage at the plate: Jones went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI, while Francis went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those two stolen bases gave Jones a new career-high. Cole Chiechi was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Enumclaw was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Enumclaw pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Beamer, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.
