Softball Recap: Ocean View Takes a Loss

Ocean View managed to slip by Troy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Ocean View Seahawks lost 17-4 to the Troy Warriors on Friday. The Seahawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Emily Mayorga made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

Mayorga wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Ocean View lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Ocean View's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Troy, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocean View will face off against Calvary Chapel at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Troy, they will take on Valencia at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
