Baseball Recap: Mountain View's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Mountain View lost against Wilcox back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Spartans took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chargers. The Spartans' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Brennan Dooley was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Mountain View saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyle Shachal, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Mountain View's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Wilcox, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-7.

While Mountain View had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
