Softball Recap: Strafford Takes a Loss

Strafford lost against Clever back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Indians took an 8-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Jays.

Presley McCain made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kaelyn Rhodes, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Strafford's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for Clever, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Strafford will host Diamond at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wildcats have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Clever, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Springfield Catholic at 5:00 p.m.
