Basketball Recap: New Underwood Takes a Loss

New Underwood lost against Lemmon back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The New Underwood Tigers fell 39-28 to the Lemmon Cowboys. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it four in a row.

Despite the loss, New Underwood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jocelyn Fulton almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Maranda Poor Bear, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 12 points and five rebounds.

New Underwood's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Lemmon, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.

Coming up, New Underwood will host Newell at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. New Underwood is facing Newell at the right time seeing as Newell is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Lemmon, they will head out on the road to take on McIntosh at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
