Baseball Recap: Marshall County Victorious

Marshall County never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Calloway County Lakers by a score of 5-0. The victory continues a trend for the Marshals in their matchups with the Lakers: they've now won three in a row.

Sully Shadowen made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one RBI.

Shadowen wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Luke Turner, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run. Turner has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Marshall County's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Calloway County, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Marshall County will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lakers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
