Ashe County is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They lost 76-52 to Watauga. The game was a close 34-32 at the break, but unfortunately for the Huskies it sure didn't stay that way.

Ashe County might have lost, but man, Cole Treva was a machine: he went 10 of 19 on his way to 27 points. The dominant performance gave Treva a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trent Sheets, who posted nine points.
Meanwhile, Alexander Central suffered their biggest loss since December 17, 2024 on Friday. They had to suffer through a 72-44 loss at the hands of Freedom. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-18.
Ashe County will have to contain Jayon Connor as he made an impact in Alexander Central's last game. He dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. That was a full 50% of Alexander Central's points, marking the ninth time in a row he's put up more than a third of the team's points. Garison Millsaps was another key player, putting up five points and nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Alexander Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.
