Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bethesda Christian). They snuck past the Lighthouse Christian Academy Lions with a 34-29 win on Thursday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Patriots as it put an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Lighthouse Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ellie Mae Winders almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. That was a full 55.2% of Lighthouse Christian Academy's points, marking the eighth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Bethesda Christian's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Lighthouse Christian Academy, they are on a 17-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Bethesda Christian has already played their next matchup, a 48-21 defeat against Liberty Christian on the 17th. As for Lighthouse Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-16 loss against Shakamak on the 18th.
