Recap: Heidelberg Oilers vs. Quitman Panthers
The Heidelberg Oilers's 27-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. The game between Heidelberg and Quitman wasn't particularly close, with Heidelberg falling 59-45. While losing is never fun, Heidelberg can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 155th, while Quitman is ranked ninth).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Quitman to victory, but perhaps none more so than AUDRIANA HARRIS, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was HARRIS's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of AALIYAH NIXON, who scored 17 points.
Heidelberg's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Quitman, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Heidelberg won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Southeast Lauderdale at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th. As for Quitman, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against West Jones at 6:00 p.m.
