Basketball Recap: Greater Atlanta Christian Takes a Loss

Greater Atlanta Christian suffered their biggest loss since November 30, 2024 on Friday. They took a blow against the Pickens Dragons, falling 78-50. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Dragons are ranked 26th).

When it comes to explaining why Greater Atlanta Christian lost, don't look at Asia Johnson. Despite the final result, she went 6-for-15 en route to 16 points. Dru Jeckewicz was another key player, going 5-for-10 to rack up 11 points.

Greater Atlanta Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 15-12. As for Pickens, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 24-2 record this season.

Greater Atlanta Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 65-27 victory against St. Vincent's on the 18th. As for Pickens, they have also already played their next contest, a 64-59 win against White County on the 15th.
