Football Recap: Dobyns-Bennett's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Dobyns-Bennett's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 21-14 victory over the Jefferson County Patriots. Winning may never get old, but the Indians sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Despite the loss, Jefferson County saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Sean Young picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles. Donovan Jackson also set a new season-high mark in rushing yards with 176.

Dobyns-Bennett's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Jefferson County, they moved to 4-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Dobyns-Bennett and Jefferson County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. The Indians will take on Claiborne at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (33 vs. 337). Meanwhile, Jefferson County (ranked 56th) will meet Daniel Boone (ranked 252nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
