Basketball Recap: Stephenson Jaguars vs. North Clayton Eagles

Stephenson lost against North Clayton on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Stephenson Jaguars fell to the North Clayton Eagles 63-57. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

North Clayton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Triston Magitt, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. That's the most steals Magitt has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Dallas Fisher, who went 7 for 11 en route to 15 points and six rebounds.

Stephenson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-13. As for North Clayton, the win got them back to even at 10-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stephenson will square off against Stone Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for North Clayton, they will challenge Cedar Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Grove knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matches -- so hopefully North Clayton likes a good challenge.
