Baseball Game Preview: Freedom Patriots vs. Colonial Grenadiers

Freedom is 8-2 against Colonial since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Patriots will host the Grenadiers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Freedom is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Lake Buena Vista 16-4 on Monday. The win was familiar territory for the Patriots, who have now won four contests in a row.

Nolan Kliegl was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kliegl was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Juan Pablo Gatica was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Wandy Soto was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Freedom kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 10.

Colonial never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Wekiva on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Mustangs. The Grenadiers not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 28th.

Colonial's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Freedom, their win bumped their record up to 9-13.

Freedom beat Colonial 3-0 in their previous meeting back in February. Do the Patriots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Grenadiers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
