Football Preview: Atascadero Greyhounds vs. Pioneer Valley Panthers        
        
		
             The Atascadero Greyhounds will square off against the Pioneer Valley Panthers at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. Atascadero is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
 Atascadero is headed in fresh off scoring the most  points they have all season. They came out on top against Santa Ynez by a score of  42-34  on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Greyhounds considering their ten-point performance the  matchup before.
 Atascadero found their leader in underclassman  Michael Trejo, who rushed for 81 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also threw for 66 yards and a touchdown. Trejo is becoming a predictor of Atascadero's success: when he posts  at  least two  rushing touchdowns the team is 2-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).  Joseph Hyde was another key player, rushing for 92 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
 Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Atascadero was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 346  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2023.
 Meanwhile, Pioneer Valley fell victim to San Luis Obispo and their airtight defense  on Friday. They took a  blow against the Tigers, falling  45-0. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
 Atascadero's victory  ended  a  four-game drought at home  dating back to last season and  bumped them up to 3-3. As for Pioneer Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1.
 Atascadero strolled past Pioneer Valley when the teams last played  back in October of 2023 by a score of  42-24. The rematch might be a little tougher for Atascadero since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
