Baseball Recap: Pike Road Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Pike Road's offense. They fell 3-0 to the Rehobeth Rebels on Wednesday. The Patriots just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Hudson Franks was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

Pike Road's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Rehobeth, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

While Pike Road had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
