Recap: Kiefer Trojans vs. Vinita Hornets
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Kiefer Trojans had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Vinita at home to the tune of 62-20. The victory was just business as usual for Kiefer, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Kiefer's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jentry Pendergraft led the charge by rushing for 78 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. Jaxon Worley was another key contributor, throwing for 128 yards and three touchdowns.
Kiefer pushed their record up to 11-0 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Vinita, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Kiefer will face off against Sequoyah at TBD on Friday. Sequoyah will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Kiefer is ranked 26th). Vinita does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
