On Friday, the Prattville Lions didn't have quite enough to beat the New Hope Indians and fell 4-2.
Brooklynn Johnson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-1 with a home run and two RBI.
On New Hope's side, Ella Baswell was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Baswell was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with a home run.
Baswell wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Haley Garrison, who went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Atlanta Copeland was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all two of her plate appearances.
Prattville now has a losing record at 8-9. As for New Hope, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
Prattville will head out on the road to square off against Northside at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for New Hope, they will face off against Hale County at 7:00 p.m. in their second game on Friday. Hale County is coming into the contest with three straight losses on the road, meaning New Hope will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
