Baseball Recap: Mount Abram Gets the Win

Mount Abram proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Old Orchard Beach Seagulls 14-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Roadrunners have posted since June 5, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Ash Rollins, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryce Wilcox, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Mount Abram is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Old Orchard Beach, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-5.

Coming up, Mount Abram will host St. Dominic at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Roadrunners' favor as the team sits on seven straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Saints have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Old Orchard Beach, they will head out to challenge Sacopee Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games the Hawks have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
