Recap: East Tech Scarabs vs. Lincoln West Wolverines
Make it five blowout wins for the East Tech Scarabs this season. They really took it to Lincoln West for the full four quarters, racking up a 77-42 victory on the road. With East Tech ahead 52-19 at the half, the game was all but over already.
East Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Simon led the charge by scoring 17 points along with seven steals. Simon is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of George Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
East Tech pushed their record up to 7-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.4 points per game. As for Lincoln West, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Tech will take on John F. Kennedy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. John F. Kennedy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 397 points over their last six games. As for Lincoln West, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Campus International at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (Campus International is ranked 840th, while Lincoln West is ranked 830th).
