Recap: Clearview Clippers vs. Wellington Dukes
The Clearview Clippers lost against the Wellington Dukes back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Clearview took a 57-40 bruising from Wellington. Clearview has not had much luck with Wellington recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Wellington was led to victory by Gabby Miller and Brooke Lehmkuhl. Miller dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Lehmkuhl dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds. Miller hasn't dropped below nine rebounds for three straight games. Taylor Morris was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Clearview has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Wellington, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.
Clearview will be playing in front of their home fans against Brooklyn at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wellington, they will head out on the road to take on Vermilion at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Vermilion: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while Wellington has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
