Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln Northwest vs. Hastings

The Lincoln Northwest Falcons will venture away from home to face off against the Hastings Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.

While the 0-0 score might suggest a draw, it was Standing Bear who was credited with the win on Tuesday. The Grizzlies got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to Lincoln Northwest's zero.

Hastings will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any goals on Saturday, then bounced right back against York on Tuesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 5-2 margin over the Dukes. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Hastings' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Lincoln Northwest's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Hastings, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Lincoln Northwest might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Hastings in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
