Hubbard proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Poland Seminary Bulldogs, sneaking past 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Eagles have posted against the Bulldogs since April 2, 2022.

Hubbard pushed their record up to 14-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Poland Seminary, their loss dropped their record down to 12-3.

Coming up, Hubbard will challenge Maplewood at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Rockets have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests. As for Poland Seminary, they will face off against Boardman at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
